A simply beautiful year so far :D

LONG TIME SINCE LAST POST, so firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR :D:D!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haha 24 days lag but still XD! As the title reads 2010 has been indeed awesomely, fantastic, magnificent, brilliant, -lazy to think of more words that are similar -. Haha the new year started with high hopes and expectations for me cos its a very important yr as there are sooooooooooooo many things im busy and involved with XD! So I shall go in a chronological order describe why the past 24 days have been (maybe) the best consecutive 24 days of my 16( YES IM FINALLY 16, V OLD I NOE) year old life.

So, 2010 started with me watching what I think is one of the best hindi movies of all time -drumroll- 3 IDIOTS :D. It was top class, simply very well put together, good comedy, gr8 storyline, excellent message sent, clearly the BEST movie of 2009 with maybe Love Aaj Kal coming a close second. The next day, we had rehersals for the Singapore Elite Youth Taekwondo Championship 2010 sports presentation duty, as some of you know (for those who dont, just look at the following typing) I have been chosen as a Sports Presenter for the Youth Olympic Games 2010 :D:D. So in order to do well then, we were chosen to present this event as well :D. Hahaha t'was really fun and we did some really wierd exercises but I guess it helped in the end (though halfway through I got cramps in my legs cos I had rushed there from Floorball training! XD).

From the 3rd to the 5th was I think the most stressful days b4 school started cos, all us PSLS were planning for IPO and Inv!gorate. Being the Vice - Head for Inv!gorate I was even more under pressure to ensure it runs smoothly and everyone enjoys it. Hahaha I ll remember those 5 hours we spent at Giant buying all that stuff for the hampers worth 600 BUCKS! (note to self: do not go shopping for school stuff at giant again!) Shaun, Lim Xi, Marcus, Auds, thanks so much!!! It was really really fun working with you guys in the same comm :D. Then on the 6th we had a full dress rehersal for the TKD championships that were happening the next day and the following day!!!! MAJOR NERVOUSNESS!

Haha the 7th was a very fun and eventful day. I left early to meet with a research scientist at the National Cancer Research Center, to find out more about how the profession is and stuff, for those of you who do not know, I want to be a Biology Research Scientist in life :D:D! The meeting was supposed to be for only 1/2 n hr cos I was supposed to go for a class outing after that. It last over an hour and a half, screw the fact that I was late for class outing, that meeting was a reinforcement for me that indeed that is what I want to do, the things i learnt in those 1 and 1/2 hr were maybe more than what I would learn in school for maybe 10 or 15 bio lessons. So rushing from that fantastic meeting to MARINA SQ where class outing was just starting, I climbed up the escalator and collided with my class, yay I wasnt too late, anyways, after that we just had lunch together at Pizza hut (which i recently learnt had some interesting relation to one of my school friends) then went to the arcade and went bowling, hahaha bran i gayed you in bowling again :P. At 4pm I left for my YOG duty for the Singapore Elite Youth TKD Championship taking place at suntec (just next door from marina :D). With a starbucks frapp in my hand I entered the hall, dam it was big! Quickly adjusting and warming up, I was just on time for the start of the tournament. When it was my turn to make the announcements at abt bout 6, my heart was literally beating at 200+ per minute XD! In the end the first day went ok and could have been better. The second day on the 8th was much better all of us were so much more confident and comfortable with the presentations. Su Xian, Rei En, Nicole, Vincent, thks for being so awesome, its gr8 being on the same team with you guys, lets rock YOG later this yr :D

So fastforward 11th Jan: IPO!!!!!! Its the first day of parenting for us PSLS and dam we were as nervous as the IP1s. The first day went quite well and after that we had to stay back to make the water bombs for the nxt day. Second day was wet and dirty games YAY! It was the best day of IPO for me la, most fun definitely! I loved the mass dunking session after that! Bryan, Clar, Shaun, Chee Yang, Vishnu, Bran, Samara, Jolene lee, Vanessa and countless others were dunked many times over and over, oh the joy! haha i still rmbr Gerald's transparent pants let us see his -blue- underwear :P epic lol. I too was dunked 3 times LOLOL. Finally IPO ended on a high note, with all of us cheering, celebrating, jumping up and down. PSLS and Honourary PSLS(v16) GR8 GR8 JOB YOU GUYS WERE AWESOME, LOVE YA ALL!

The next day was first day of service learning camp for us PSLS and honestly it was quite fun :D GO DIX! I found my personality type to be ENTP :D which is the same as Keeran, Bran, Caleb, etc.. Yay! The 15th and 16th however were I think the best days of the year so far. SL overnight camp + Bash Nite + Soccer = HAPPY :D After the day activities on the 15th, everyone rushed at 6+ to get ready for bash nite, so being smart, me, keeran, a few other 14 n 11 guys, stayed until 7pm to play soccer :D:D Then all sweaty and energised, we went to take a shower and dress up as if for a prom by 8pm. We all looked so different from our usual selves it was as if everyone had suddenly become kings & queens. All dressed up and ready to go, Me and the 14 guys, went down together to the "ballroom". Wah entering the room even though I was wearing a full party shirt(ahem it wasnt an Indian wedding, ayushi, vishnu and all the rest who thought so!) and jeans, I felt underdressed, my mouth dropped when I saw all the girls in their dresses and all the other guys in full shirts. Bash nite was the most fun Ive had in a long time and should have lasted longer!!!!!!!!!!!!! After the skit segment we had an open party and dance for like 20+ mins(see i told you shld have lasted longer!) It was so fun, We did all the fun, stupid stuff like pole dance, etc.., R21 ahem..., HAHAHA 11's skit and then Mr Leonard's dance with David was the best lor! Hahaha then we were carried around; me, lim xi, david, keeran, ramesh, bryan (like the rock star thing where they jump horizontally into the crowd and get carried above everyone) :D:D! Dancing the nite away was one thing i wouldnt have minded at all but around 10 45, bash nite finishd :(. SO ON TO SOCCER :D in our full party attires about 20 of us played until the lights went out at around 11 15, it was so fun :D:D. Then after announcing about inv!gorate which would happen on the 18th n 19th, we sang happy b'day to Lim Xi at 12am hahaha. We slept at only I think 3/ 4 am cos I was up almost all nite bitching with keeran :D:D. Haha keeran we shld do tt more often :D. So ended the best nite of the yr so far and then SL camp a few hours later. So began the wait for my 16th bday :D.

9 hours after I got home from SL camp, I got a call from akhi and at the same time my mum came into my room, both said the same thing, Happy B'day Gaurav. Yay! So finally I became 16, staying awake till like 1 + getting smses and calls, I woke up at around 9am and got ready to go out with AMS, PINU AND AKHI :D. So me, ams and pinu went to Marina Sq. together while Akhi would join us later(MARINA SQ akhi not MARINA BAY!) We had lunch at subway, went bowling after that and then, rushed to watch Dance Pe Chance(recommended by Pinak), it was quite sucky to be truthful.. but we all had a dam gd laugh at the movie so yup full marks for comedy :P. Anyways I just wanna thank everyone who's made an impact in my 16 yrs of life. I ll remember and cherish all the fun, good times we've had. Thanks especially to my parents, my sis, for always supporting me and Ams, pinu and akhi, thks for the gr8 day, love ya guys :D

So with my bday over, Inv!gorate stress takes over, dam!!!!!!! Haha me and the rest of the comm and all the psls, put in all the effort we could, so I hoped it would go well. Hmm, the first day honestly went quite ok, apart from the fact that we had a lot of outdoor games and overshot. The second day went better though and - drumroll - 11 won! 15 second! 13 third! 12 FOURTH! :D and 14 fifth! anyways Thanks to all you guys who helped make it a success. Shaun, Lim Xi, Marcus, Auds, it was gr8 being in Inv! comm with you guys! :D and finally PSLS, our term maybe ending soon, but I just wanna say. You guys have been the best group I ve ever been with. I will really really really miss the times we've had :'(. I LOVE ALL OF YOU AND LETS ALL KEEP IN TOUCH AND KEEP THE PSL SPIRIT GOING :D

Finally, back to lessons from 20th, haha Inv!gorate hangover like siao! AND WE'RE GOING TO THE NATIONALS FOR CRICKET! LETS SHOW THEM WHAT VJ ARE MADE OF GUYS! :D Then there were debate trials on 20th as well for the JG team, so nervous siol. Then on friday of this week, after class, suddenly there was a chorus of happy bday in class, not knowing who it was for I joined in, upon hearing my name in the 3rd verse I was stunned, then suddenly jolene gave me a birthday present from the class. It felt so awesome, the presents were gr8 as well and the whole moment almost made me emotional. We went to parkway after that to have lunch in celebration on mine and sherilynn's b'days. So finally thks to you guys, 09v12 :D Youre the best class ive had honestly and I love you guys.

The weekend is almost over now at 9.36pm (dam its been 2 hrs since i started this post) and now with the PSL stuff over the next challenges coming up are the Cricket nationals which I hope to lead by example in as im vice cap. and the Julia Gabriels National Debate tournaments. Also I'd now like to announce that I will be running for Students Council. So with sooooo many things coming up, I might not update for long, till then, this shld be enough. :D

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://gauravdabesteva.blogspot.com/2010/01/2010-simply-beautiful-year-so-far-d.html' title='2010.. Ok now starting from yesterday, wow teacher's day eve already, ah how time flies its already 9 mths into the new yr and it so doesnt seem so.. Anyways, it was one of the best days i hv had in quite a while, firstly cos it was a half day, secondly cos i got to go back to VS and SSS to meet everyone :D. So after 10 30, avoiding the conventional method of taking a bus 2 stops down to VS, I ran; yes ran all the 800 metres there. It was thouroughly awesome la, as i ran so many familiar faces passed me, some going to pp to celebrate their half day too, others going off to their primary schools. Running, chatting, reminscing all those beautiful memories; I entered the school gate, after chatting to ams, pinu and bhagi for a while, I went in looking around for my teachers. Meeting Ms. Sharma at the foyer, I knew that the teachers were leaving alr so without further ado I ran to the staffroom and one by one had a nice though short catch up session with all my teachers.. Mr Robin, Ms. Raksha, Mr. Chia, Ms. Hashima and so many other teachers and friends wow it was a fun time. Then, onto SSS, again i decided to go by foot and climbed up that huge hill near siglap center to get there. When I arrived, more familiar faces started drifting in, wow we had all changed so much in the past 3 years that it was both amusing and surprising at the sight of each other. After waiting for Akhi for 1/2 n hr, we thn went to meet our teachers. SSS were still having their teacher's day celebrations when we gatecrashed but as if we cared. It was fun meeting up with everyone and it brought back nostalgic memories both of VS and SSS. Then, Me and Akhi went out for lunch and he came over after that till like 5 to cap off what had been a gr8 day :D. However, after he left, mugging resumed cos EOYs are up in less than 28 days Aahh!!!!!!!!!!! So now the main battle begins for these 28 days, it seems dam short to finish up all the revision. Ah who cares, its time to bid farewell to sleep at least for a month. Jiayou people.. :D; 28 days remain..

The hols so far...

Wat a first wk XD! Hahaha lets start off wit saturday; OVA SOCCER TOURNAMENT :D! Haha, omg wat a brilliant morning we had despite not winning a single game XD. Our brilliant ip1 team: Me, David, Keeran, Lim Xi, Gaofei, Ramesh, Isaiah. Hahaha it was a 6 - aside tournament so we had to use rolling subs. OMG we were seriously the underdogs la, the whole VS squad practically came down XD but our first match was against our awesome seniors :D. Haha we werent well warmed up and we lost the match 2 - 0, awww dam sad but still our first match only, arg i had one shot on goal saved by rohan XD. Then next match we played against the weakest of the VS teams, ramesh whacked the ball to me near the halfway line then i controlled and laid a through pass to keeran, wa lao he shot dam powerfully the moment he reached the pass and keeper saved but no use ball went in :D, yay 2 mins to go and we were leading! but then in the last minute we let in 2 goals, I was like WTS la, dam unlucky, the second goal was just b4 the final whistle and we lost again XD. 3rd match, we played against the strongest VS team, lolol they were challenging our seniors for top spot la. Then, they scored first, but with like 2 minutes to go, David through passed to me, then i took a shot outside the penalty area and SCORED :D! Omg was dam happy la, we ended up drawing tht match hahaha, at least we could proudly say we dint lose every match :D. Haha then last match we lost 2 - 1, David scored :D. But still dam crap ah our match record: 1 draw 3 losses XD. However for our standard i think we played awesomely, all the teams next yr better watch out, we are coming for u! Hahaha then after tht we all ended up at KFC at Siglap after erm David erm told us tht pizza hut still had students discount on weekends! Lol we were there for like 2 hrs la, after we had a 1 n 1/2 hr long gossiping/ bitching session btwn me, david, keeran, gaofei, ramesh n lim xi :D. Omg it was dam fun completely crapping for 1 n 1/2 hrs :D:D:D, nice start to the hols. The next day was total opp. completely boring XD. Haha thn came monday lol dam crap first weekday of hols n we hv a class =/ Lolol after tht we went for class outing/ eating, stoning and crappin session :D Hahaha we met vishnu at pp and he happily joined us for lunch, before he left for India tht night. Tues was supposed to be val hall fb trainin but gt cancelled last min! WL dam sian leh, i was lookin forward to fb after soo long ah nvr mind gt training this thurs YAY :D:D:D! Hahaha wed n thurs were fifa 09 and sleepin paradise i woke up at like 10 or so everyday then i seriously spammed on my xbox 360 for god noes how many hrs la XD, then i also finished my brilliant bio notes for proteins :D! Hahaha i jus love bio la! dam awesome subject :D! Ohoh i oso went soccer cage on thurs wit sikka, ryan, etc. dam fun :D:D:D! Ok suddenly dam high now XD Lolol shit i think i m addicted to the song 'pictures of you' by the last goodnight hahaha alr played it like 20 times over the past 2 days XD Ok i m hungry shall go eat dinner then continue this post XD. ... Ok back :D. Fri: Nuthin much jus gt very bored and almost died due to it XD. Sat: NEXTGEN YOUTH SEMINAR :D I got a picture with SM GOH CHOK TONG wohoo :D:D:D hahahaha it was quite boring la esc. the part where we had to sit for 1 n 1/2 hrs to listen to Dr. Fatimah Lateef speak XD U shld hv seen all of the students were like practically sleepin -.-. Anyways the good part was got to meet loads of new people and make new friends :D:D:D. Hahaha then came Sunday, dam sian, bored to death again XD, drank wine when some family frends came over, hahaha then became super high :D Then watched Roger Federer justify why he is indeed the world's greatest tennis player ever, he rocks to the core and he totally deserved the french open yesterday :D. Today: CLASS OUTING AT MARINA SQ. YAY! :D:D:D:D:D. I arrived at like 10 15 thinkin i was late(we were supposed to come at 10 am) lol only TJ, WX, RJ and joshua were there we waited till like 10 45 till finally the girls came la, lolol only 9 people in total XD. First we went bowling, lol the girls dint bowl again but decided to take pics of our lonkang shots. YAY, i won the first game :D but only score 86 leh. Then the girls got bored n decided to go look around while we finishd our second game. As we started our second game suddenly my luck vanishd la, dam crap i ended up gettin 53 u noe!!!!!!! then bran can still get 117 arg dam irritating. Haha thn we went arcade, played racing wit bran, retarded leh, in the last lap both times bran crashed into my car to get 1st la ah dam u bran!!!! Hahahaha then i beat TJ in soccer wohoo, TJ dam unlucky lolol i cleared the ball of my line twice leh! Then we went to hv lunch at a Japanese Restaurant, we had a barbeque and steamboat buffet, it was a very different experience for me. Thks WX and Bran for being so thoughtful and sensitive tday abt the food. We ate for 4 hrs at the restaurant, barbecueing chicken, fish, prawns, etc. dam fun but the butter kept splashin all over the place la! HAHAHA the best part was the ice cream buffet :D, Lol joshua u really missed tt XD. We got to cook our own ice cream XD dam fun :D:D WX is a pro ice cream chef! Hahahaha thn we mixed up wierd concotions and dared each other to eat them. Haha the most sickest one was when we poured all our unused toppings and ice cream + our other ice cream waste and dared each other to eat. Me, WX and RJ said cheers and popped tht 'thing' down our gullets, not feeling anythin at all :D. Then we walked and stoned all over Marina Sq for like 30 mins lookin at diff. shops b4 deciding to go home. In one word, frivolous. In the second - last wk of term 2, we were given our result slips. Woa for the first time in my life nuthin forward to look to in there. Hahaha, so instead, focus spins to FB finals which was on wed or 20th of may :D:D. Yay we get to leave sch early to go support our guys n girls team who r up against MJC in both their matches :D:D:D. Omg atmosphere was sooo tense, crowd support was so immense, me n nat screamed our voices out. However, the girls lost 3 -2 it was heart - wrenching having come so close XD. Hahaha me n caleb were hoping tht MJC get disqualified for fielding a guy in their team, 0.0 their keeper was a complete remake of Borat XD hahaha. Hahaha thn came a master class display of why we can now proudly say whenever we lose our practise matches in training to our jc seniors, tat we lost to national champions man! Awesome, top class, 6 goals, a penalty saved and a bet lost by joshua hahaha, dude u shld hv known i hv never lost a bet b4 :P. 6 - 4 to VJC champions of A div guys floorball wohoo!!!!! Then immediately after tht i had to rush right back to the other side of the island(the match was at chua chu kang) to tampines mall by 6 30pm XD. Retarded leh, the way i ran, the match only finishd at 5 pm and i even had to go home n change b4 goin to meet ams and pinu to watch angels n demons :D:D:D. Hahaha, so arriving at 6 .37pm cos the MRT train also broke down halfway, i was jus in time for the 6 40 show. Man now tats wat u call timing and class, i almost scared the living daylights out of ams n pinu when i arrived lolol, they looked soo mad :P srry guys for the heart attack! Anyways, gr8 movie, though Dan Brown's writing is second to none. Lovely plot, good capture of the tension and entertainment. Oh man, i soo wanted to stay to eat dinner wit ams n pinu but i had to leave early arg, ah nvm guys we'll meet up soon again :D. Thursday and Floorball trainin again :D yay! FB trainings hv been like totally awesome :D! Training went gr8, my team won every game we played and i scored 3 goals in 4 matches YAY! :D Hahaha thn came Akhi's B'day and PTM + LA proj at WX house on 23rd, the Sat. Haha the first half of the day pretty much sucked, thn when i called Akhi over at 3+ it was suddenly soo awesome. Man i hadnt seen him for one whole term and yes the Sat though not enough to catch up on everythin, was sooo awesome. Man i had missed him so much over the last term, when i had nearly crashed he helped cheer me up once, thks Akhi, ur seriously the awesomest friend i could ever have. So even though my fifa 09 was screwed, we played fifa 07 and chatted abt life for 2 hrs at least. He is the only person i can actually share my whole life with la, every single secret i keep to myself. Akhi jus tis one quote for u, -If this world was still filled with friends like u, nobody would ever feel cheated or backstabbed- ILY man :D. Nyways then came Monday, Soccer guys final :D:D:D, we reached there just on time after catching the bus a lil l8 due to a catch up lesson on bio. Even though less than 10 people frm our class went, sitting wit the only people u really like soccer in my class, Nat n TJ, made it an interesting match to sit n watch wit frends throughout. My heart was in my mouth for like most of the match and even as i type this now omg i m getting goosebumps. Hahaha, we scored first! 1 - 0, u shld hav seen our celebration lol. They had an african as their foreign talent however we had our own angmor too! Their centre - back is like awesome at set pieces, he took a long free kick and it was headed for the top corner, our goalie did get a hand to it though but he flumbled and it dropped into the goal :0. Nyways 1 - 1. Omg then, the african took an awesome freekick from just outside the penalty box and it dipped and swerved beautifully into the corner of our net, nerve - wracking for us, but a beautiful strike all in all. 2 - 1 down, half time approaching... and then our No. 10, ran frm the halfway line and blasted a shot from the edge of the penalty box into the far right corner of the goal, what a finish!!! Second half came and we missed plenty of sitters! chances came and went begging, a few of them literally missed on the goaline XD. But the last minute, was a fantastic time to score and that too wit a stupid header frm 3 feet out. Omg, 89 min, 3 - 2 to VJC, We went wild, me n nat were jumping up and down hi fiving, people were sobbing so hard, the scorer himself crying like anything. Awesome atmosphere, and within minutes of injury time, we were National Champions for both Girl's and Guy's A div. Shouts of FULL DAY ECHOED HARD ACROSS JALAN BESAR STADIUM. Any hint of there bein one on tues, omg we came prepared for assembly, one of the J1s even brought a banner along and Mr. Chan went up on stage and said immediately, get out you are dismissed. Freakin awesome aint it :D. We went out for erm class outing erm only seven people, Me, Bran, Tj, Rj, Wx, Joey and Jolene, to marina square. Hahaha first we ate at BK, Omg jolene eats so slow, she could literally take 1 hr jus to finish the meal XD, Rj tried to throw fries into the air and catch with his mouth and wow act. worked XD. Then bowling, arg joey n jolene just sit at one side thn take pics of us shooting into lonkang!!! Hahahaha yay i won both the games we played, brandon's special technique dint work hahaha, omg typing all tis makes me feel sooooo high now XD. Aft bowling we all went home, lol but at least it was a full day n there was Fb to look forward to the nxt day :D. Man i was on fire in fb training on wed hahaha, 4 goals in 4 matches and we won 3 of those games and were unbeaten, I think i m really improving well over the past term :D:D:D Hahaha aim high for B div next yr but must train hard as well :D. Lol sis, how was tat goal i scored against u hahaha :P, made u proud rite? Nyways tat ended Fb training for the term :(! Still there was cricket training the nxt day :D Omg, considering i batted in the nets for the first time in a mth, i tink i did ok, still loads of room for improvement, esc. if i wanna be vice cap next yr which i soooo wanna be :D:D:D. Finally came Friday, lst day of term 2, lst day of tortures, it has been a rough term, i m jus gonna work hard durin these remainin 26 days of the hols and shine in term 3 n 4, the bar has been raised for achievement, its time to raise myself for acheiving that acheivement :D

2 quotes i came up wit tis term :D : - Lost and Confused, I looked around, I found u and I found
my world ;)
- The past may be gone and the present may be slipping
through our fingers like sand, however if we have hope of a
better future, only our past can change it XD

Gaurav shall smile once again :D

YAY!!!!!! Torture Week is finally over :D:D:D:D:D X 10000. Hahahaha, lolol ok im seriously dam high now cos in the whole remainder of the term there is only 1 test left :D. Lol all the emoness and gloomy mood of the previous weeks seemed to lift instantly when Ms Sandhya said,' You Are Dismissed' at the end of LA test tday, it marked the end of a tortous, unending week of pain for me. Just for that instant i was on cloud nine despite just finishing an LA test which we are all bound to borderline pass only, its ok my dear 12, LA is shit afterall. Hahaha, jus phy test on wed and oh piles of HW remainin for the upcoming wk but i don give a ****in dam abt it tday! Today i decided to take a well deserved oath not to touch any school-based piece of paper for the whole day after i came back and do not intend to anytime soon either ;). The moment i came back, I changed, took my soccer ball and went down to play for 1 and 1/2 hrs, lol i hadnt played soccer for god noes how many wks and yay finally :D:D:D, felt really great playin and venting out all the frustration and bad thoughts inside of me on that rubber ball. Oops hope i dint commit ball abuse, if not the ball association will hold me responsible for torture on their member of society which were crimes against ball rights(Lol there's a huge rip across my ball from when i smashed a lampost tday, oops XD). Lol so from the previous sentence you can see how LA screws up your mind in soo many ways XD. Tonite is slacky, party, let loose night all the tension shall be released :D. No pressure watsoever just me and the positive thoughts of the world :). Gaurav shall indeed smile once again cos its definately not over...

twodays are a winding road its taken me to places that i dint want to go :(

The last 2 days hav been one of the worst i hv lived through, totally crashed, pummelled, depressed, no hope. Lol expected -.-, but it caught us slightly off guard and took a while to adjust to the change in pace. The last 3 wks hav been very depressing, dreadful, awful, sad, well -fill in any word which has a negative feelin here-. I had sorta run out of steam by the time i hit wednesday in each of the past 3 wks and lost interest in the days after. Very tired, Very Stressed, Very Confused and Very depressed. With so many diff. activities i really stretched myself tis term, thank god no other month long cricket tournament was there if not i would hav GGed by now XD. Lol was a huge gamble which half paid off half didnt. Until wk 4 I was in cruise control of term 2 handlin the pressure well, then other factors started kickin in. Confused, lost, brain filled with all sorts of sad and depressing thoughts, I crashed. Lol wasnt fantastic the last few wks, sat and literally doing nuthin except emoin for one whole hr day in day out is a tyrannous experience. Slept very late, the increasin work load dint help. The whole cycle kept repeating and repeating everyday, the barrage of tests dint help either, crashed again. No hope is one word to describe the past wk for me, completely depressed, emo, lost in my thoughts. No focus watsoever on most lessons, completely drained by tuesday, lacked the cutting edge which i usually possess rendering myself to be less productive in all ways. Small streaks of joy were not enough to bring me out of the chain depression cycle but its not gonna stay tis way! I will survive or at least try to! Nxt wk is a killer with 4 tests but I will get over tis emoness, tiredness, hopelessness, brokeness feeling of mine and will fight. We seriously need a class outing! my dear 12 jiayou for nxt wk and then we shall party :D!
PS: My blog finally reached 5000 hits yay! thank you all the people who hav evr visited tis blog :D and thank you Mdm Ow for makin me start tis blog as an english project compulsary for the whole lvl, lol funny to see it has evolved into tis.

-LIFE DOES TAKE US ON A WILD RIDE, BUT OUR JOB IS TO CLING ON AND NAVIGATE IT-

Term 2 so far...

God Save Me, Term 2 literally whizzing past n its already wk 4 starting :(. Me, Joshua, WX and TJ joked around a lot when we had to pretend to ask the dummy we were practising on(it tastes seriously disgusting XD) whether it was ok. I picked it up and slapped it then acted hysterical and screamed at it, wake up wake up! Joshua was like,' ah heck i give up, die la die'. It was really funny and it was over by 11 30am, arg felt like a waste of time. Anyways after that I went to Sakae Sushi with Joshua, WX, TJ, Joey, Jolene and Clarissa at PP. Ya, it was a very diff. experience and I ate only Salmon Rice off the conveyor belt, but it was a gd innovation puttin food on a conveyor belt and a gd experience goin there. Then I took a bus back home back with TJ and Jolene, who both got off at VJ and I picked up Vishnu frm VS becos we both had to do the lit. project which... YES I FINALLY SENT IT!! 6 MINS FRM DEADLINE :D -claps-, -laughs-, lol. Ok srry for that sudden highness hahahaha. Anyways, still got LA, Hist and Bio, not to mention 160 pages of Hindi arg!!!!!!! Oh and Happy B'day to my lil bro Aditya in US, if u r readin this now, lol HAPPY B'DAY!!! :D and Happy B'day to Bhagi too whose is in 3 minutes lol! Lol even Afiq(rmbr the camp instructor for VIP camp) was there :o!!!!! Mark(The Sports Commentator/ Presenter, u noe the guy frm CNA smtimes) was in charge of the selection of further candidates and he came down to give us tips, but he ended up making us laugh like mad. We had to make a 1 minute script ourselves and present it in front of the camera for viewing by a panel of judges later. The topic was 'My Fav Sport' and obviously i wrote abt soccer lol. I think i did quite ok... ah i ll jus hope to get in when the results come out nxt wk. Anyways I ll be in the chinese daily newspaper (zao bao or smthin lol) either todays one or toms one becos there was some reporter frm wanted to take pics of us durin the camp. Ok i m gonna restart today but jus to sum up the past mths:

We had bridging curriculum for the first 3 wks after our orientation, it was a project abt redesignin our classroom, in my grp I had Auds, Brandy, Jolene and Miley in my grp and we were the most high and retarded grp so yay!!!!!!!!!. I found out a lot of stuff bein with u guys, and had a lot of times, erm... new majestic hotel bus ride will haunt us all definately XD and the time where i found out Jolene's mom was my pri sch teacher :O. But our project went very well and we even came in 2nd out of the 5 groups in class. So Yay!

Next week was JC orientation, we were dam bored so we were ponnin and then we were caught by Iggy. He looked scary but he was right and we shldnt hav been ponnin, anyways THOR SUAN :D. We had quite a fun time, I had Nat, Marie and Miley in my OG, and the rest were the 10 new JC 1S.

But the Friday of that week was awesome, first until 1+ we had sea carnival at ECP. It was fun but soo hot... We all got Sunburnt! However at 7pm onwards we had MASS DANCE AT SUNTEC CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D it was 1 OF THE FUNNEST NIGHTS I HAVE HAD!!!!!!!! We all surroundin the fountain of wealth, goin around in chains shoutin 12!12!12!12! until we were hoarse, the whineying together as a class and the other 5 dances. After the Mass dance we all went to the Sky Bridge on top of Suntec and played truth and dare, wit Ren Jie mash potatoing with XiaoJun lol.

Then studies started, it is suprisingly not strenous and fun. The periods zip pass like breaks and it is engaging most of the times. Yes i did screw up my first chem practical but hey, i did get much better. I also had Cricket National B Div Tournament goin on then and it was awesome even though we dint win. I scored 38 runs against Unity Sec lol and took a wicket against Ping Yi against whom i also scored 5 runs. Then against ACS(I) i scored a dam nice 4 and scored 6 runs lol. With people like Bran, Auds and Jolene in your group obviously it ll be fun and high! XD

Then in Wk 10 we went to Bintan as a cohort, on the first day we did mountain climbin, in crazy rainy conditions. I want to thank, Joey, Jolene and Shilp for their support while climbing the mountain on the first day lol. Durin reflection that nite it was fun to see the class whineying while the other classes were discussing. On the second day, we had CIP and Mangrove Resforestation, and I lost my ipod :(. Thanks 12 for ur encouragement despite me not being able to find my ipod. The Third day, we had to break camp and dragon boat to White Sands Island. I wanna thank Rex, Wei Xuan and Sean for waiting for me to pack my 15 days worth of food b4 we broke camp despite being scolded by the instructors to hurry up. After reachin White Sands, we did sampan rowing, snorkelling and had lunch there, then we dragon boated back to a different part of the resort island to camp overnight. We did campfire prep after reaching the place and decided to do a story on the flock of geese and how they fly together through thick and thin. The flock of geese represents our class :D. 4th Day, Campfire and yay finally thank god! Resort Night!!!!! :D. It was very fun esc. the afterparty we had as a class aft. the campfire, ok the T&D session was crap but hey, the 15 days worth of food came to use :D. Then on friday, tired and sleepy we came back to Singapore at 1 30pm, yay!

And now... March Hols goin on but isnt exactly like a holiday lol, loads and loads of work.

XD -dies-

IP so far...

Long long time has passed since, the start of the year but it only feels like 1 month, but only over 1 month has passed of sch and it feels like over 3 mths. At 7 33am, I entered VJC and proceeded towards the lecture theatre 1, for assembly. Dam, 3 mths of beautiful hols came to an end finally... well it had to sometime. At 7 40 am assembly started as I was chatting with a couple of Indian scholars( we have 3 Indian(2 guys one girl) and 4 Chinese(2 guys and 2 girls) scholars in our class). Mr Boy Eng Seng, who is in charge of the IP department in VJC, welcomed us and gave us the best news of the day probably after that of MAN U 3 - CHELSEA 0, which was that there would be no formal lessons till week 6!! Ya the whole IP1 cohort burst into excited screams and cheers. Then after assembly we went up to the Helmsman rooms( which is like the flexi room at VS), for our orientation briefing. After a quick run through on the day's events, we split up into our classes to play ice-breaker games, such as charades and pass the parcel, we got to know each other's names quite well after that. Then we went back to the helmsman room, for a briefing on the flag making activity. There were small 10 inch rafia strings given out to all of us, which had to be used as lifelines, as in that all of us needed to have one at any one point of the activity if not we would be made to do forfeits by the Peer leaders. So we divided our class into 4 different groups, stealing the strings, protectors, Flag decoraters and material collecters. I was in the stealing string group and so we and the protectors worked together to ensure that our classmates making the flag could do it without anyone trying to steal their strings. So me, Brandon and the chinese scholars, Rex and Francis and the indian scholars, Vishnu and Shilp, went around trying to grab solo victims strings, to provide to our classmates to keep as extra in case they lost their strings. It was immensely fun and by 11 15 we had finished our flag and taken a class photo around the flag :). We quickly stored our flags in the helmsman rooms and went for lunch at 11 30am. We had to make a play about our flag, so we prepared for that after lunch. Then, we had an activity called the Amazing Race, where we had to go around in different tribes(groups) of our different countries(classes). I had Brandon, Sean, Joey, Chun Shu, Miley and myself in my tribe. Basically we had to go around the school and solve different problems in different ways as a tribe and be back as quick as possible. Meanwhile, we could steal other tribes flags(each tribe had one and they were to protect it) while they were unaware of it if they were too busy focusing on the game. So we started out, first we had a game where we had to flip a mat about 3 feet by 3 feet while five of the tribe members were still standing on the mat. So engineering the move, I chose to do the flipping while the rest of my tribemates were balancing themselves :P. It was fun and done in 3 minutes ;D. So we moved on to the next game where we had to lift our teammates through holes in a bunch of raffia strings tied in between 2 pillars. Brandon being the tallest in the level easily jumped across to help as support. Then we lifted Joey, Chun Shu and Sean across. Then I clambered over and Miley jumped through, again we did it quite fast :D. Then we went on to the next 2 games but it was last game that killed our time XD. We had to stack up the balloons in a tower of 8 balloons, however the tower kept collapsing :(, due to the wind. So as Joey says, if not first might as well be last :P so we took our time and to a round of sarcastic applause entered the helmsman room last of all tribes... XD. So despite comin in last, we still had time to work on the play. We had decided on the story where there was a village which depended on the sun(Brandon, cos he is so dam tall) and one day the sun was dying. So the village chief(Me :D!), deployed his trusted warriors to consult the lion(francis) to self-sacrifice itself to give the sun its power, the lion eventually agreed and the sun survived again :D, ya i noe its very retro but for 2 hrs of worth of work thats gd! That was the end of day 1...

New year, new class, new friends, new crazy moments

Happy New Year!!!!!!!! Yes I know this is the latest new year wish u ve got but better late than never, lol another motto along without accuracy not speed(pinak and bhagi and the hindi guys know abt the accuracy-speed thing, so ask them if any confusion). Lol anyways, today is 8th of January for those of you guys who end up losing track of the date on holidays or etc... Ya I kept forgetting the dates in India, lol it happens when u r on travel. Ghajini what to say other than Aamir, well done!!! A true genius 3 1/2 story moving at breakneck speed with a touch of perfectionist Aamir's work. 10/10, even some of the hits of the year: SIK, Jaane Tu, Rab Ne, Jodha Akhbar, etc.. are again brought down a level by this, becos this film has a class of its own! So here begins another chapter in all of our lives, 2009, lets hope for a gr8 year ahead!!!!!!!!! :) I ll be goin to Vjc from this year for IP, so yesterday, I went our class outing. Lol considering that we had only seen ourselves once before and that we had organised the thing completely by ourselves, It was fun and went well. We went 4 bedtime stories, I had to watch it again... but it was fun cos I smuggled a whole macdonalds meal up and ate in the theatre, after the movie we went to the open plaza on Tampines mall 4th floor and just chatted, played games, laughed, joked, it was fun. At least we will able to recognise ourselves on the camp on 12th(thats when our sch starts lol... Monday. Today Rak, came over. He is migrating to US; so sad everyone going US :(, anyways, we played fifa 09, gears of war and soccer downstairs. The wind blowing downstairs was ferocious it was working against our swerve! yup thats how strong it was and lol still is, but I live on the 19th floor so its natural. We then were getting late, cos by 5 30pm I had make a booking for a tennis court and Rak had to pick up a testimonial from the VS general office. So we were dead late cos we left my place at 5 15pm, but kya kamaal ka luck hai(wat gr8 luck we have) In front of us the Victoria Hall(hostel at VS) bus stood at the traffic light in front of my block, not caring, rather recklessly again, I ran to the bus and asked the bus uncle to let us in he graciously agreed. My god we were saved, the bus dropped me of at Laguna View and took Rakshit straight to Vs, fantastic, saved by our own school. I will miss VS, but look ahead to 2009.

Lol tomorrow I m goin to VS to meet the teachers and hav fun and slack before my sch starts on 12th, dam my 3 mth holiday is ending but it had to end sometime ;) ...

I'm Back!

I arrived at 4 30 am yesterday mornin, it was a gr8 trip in India, next post will hav more detail on it, I slept for virtually the whole of yesterday and fifa09ed tday :D. Today was hectic, especially after 4 30 pm. I woke up at 9 30, then had my breakfast at about 10 30. Then I rushed to Bedok Library to get a bridging curriculum book for VJC next year. I got theone on intergrated humanities cos thats the only subject I will need help in adjusting to the new syllabus, the rest I can hopefully deal with. Anyways then I came back to enjoy my last time playin Fifa 09 for a month I won both the matches so Yay! Then I had to run down to Parkway Parade to get a book for my sister(her PSLE next year!) So with about 4 and a half hours remaining, I took the bus to PP and got the book. While coming back however, as I passed Vs, I saw Ryan sitting at the bus stop(Earlier on when I had been going to PP I had seen them having soccer training.) Rather Recklessly, I took a split second descision and got of the bus! I ran across the road and approached Ryan, the first things I said to him," I have a flight in 2 hrs 57 minutes, hows life and hols so far?" (Yes I know thats kinda crazy but still) We talked for another 10 minutes or so then I boarded another bus to come back home, In that bus I saw loads of Vs boys who had jus come back from camp and a few friends as well. So we talked until I reached my stop, then I sprinted home and now I have 2 hrs and 19minutes till my plane departs. So c ya guys i ll miss u! Most probably I ll have Internet Connection in India but just in case, bye, till 25 th dec or sooner.

India Here I come

Oh, I still cant believe that tomorrow at 9 pm, I will be in a plane on my way to India, for a month. But I so wanna watch dostana. Quantum of Solace, its an ok movie, good action, 4 stars. Golmaal Returns, Freakishly funny, but dam cheap humour, they make fun of almost every movie, the ending scene , is also funny, the dance sequences are super lame, the small role characters in the movie was super funny as well, about 4 1/2 stars for making us laugh like maniacs! Man, really, the way Pinak and Amrit were laughing beside me was super funny(We went to watch on thursday). Then after the movie we all went to my place, they stayed until about 8 45, playin Fifa 09, Gears Of War, fooling around, Playin with the Keyboard. The very next day(yesterday), I went to watch Madagascar 2 with Gayatri, it was fun, the movie at least had a good story compared to golmaal returns which had no story line at all, about 3 and a half stars, I love those cute penguins and the lemurs. So basically, Hols have gone by so far, playin Fifa 09, facebooking, checking Emails, Going to Keyboard class 3 times a week, going for a communication skills grade 7 exam, keyboard grade 2 exam, Going to Mandrin Gardens to play soccer and meet Deeren, Meeting up with Amrit and Pinak, Takin photos with Laura Croft, going shopping, meeting up with Akhi and slackin at home.

Last Day at VS, Occasions & Acheivements of 2008

What a year it has been! 17/10/08, I woke up at 6.30 am as usual, got ready for school and descended to my lexus, carrying a bag filled with: 2 pe t shirts, two markers, a pencil case, a bottle and extra clothes. Yes I know not exactly an everyday school bag's contents, however then again this wasnt an everyday school day, today was my swan song at VS. As I arrived inside the foyer, trademarkly late, a group of prefects awaited, not recording my name down for being late, they sorta ushered me in till the canteen. As the national anthem sounded, I stood still right at the lifts beside the canteen, before I could cross over to the classroom side and ascend those steps to 2H. My heart thumping harder than ever, I strolled into the class at 0745. I looked around as I moved towards my seat, in one corner of the class, lay a bunch of chips, drinks and snacks clambered onto two tables, the class had actually brought the things for a class party, not bad, not bad they remembered! :P. So Mr Gabriel then started talking about something which I cant remember now, cos I immediately went to the washroom after arriving. In there, I quickly whipped out my phone(Srry Mr Chia! lol) and called my mom to bring a couple of bags of drinks and chips for the party. I returned to class and asked everyone I could reach to sign the first PE shirt I had brought, that one was for my friends, classmates and all students, while the mass signing was going on, I took out the second PE shirt and went to Mr Gabriel and asked him to sign. 'Best Of Luck In Vjc(disguised sarcasm)', yup thats what he wrote. Lol. As the rest of the class started heading towards the auditorium, I joined them and asked Rama 'why were we going there'. Apparently, we had a talk about piracy and Intellectual Property stuff, hey I didnt care about the talk. The moment we entered the auditorium, I got an sms from my mum that she was reaching in 5 minutes, so as the talk began, I slipped out of the auditorium with my bag, and went down to the gates, to collect the 5 bags of chips, 4 bottles of drinks, chocolates, etc. I then lugged those heavy bags of calories to the class while everyone was attending the talk. Then, I took the second shirt out, the one Mr. Gabriel had signed on, the one for teachers and took it to the staffroom, to get teachers to sign. I called Mr Robin, Ms. Raksha out and stopped Ms. Hashima as she was about to enter and they took turns signing and writing their best wishes on the shirt, yes it was a very emotional moment :(. Then I moved into Mr Chia's Room and asked him to sign as well. It was time to get back to the auditorium before anyone got suspiscious, so ducking, bending, crouching my way through(VS is a perfect CS Map, escp. the sky bridges) , I reached the auditorium and sat there for 10 minutes until the talk was over. Then we all walked back to 2H and the party began, with all the desks pushed to one side. Everyone, gorged right into the snacks and drinks as I went around takin pics, eating chips, sipping coke, savouring the moment. It was brilliant. More people started passing by our class as shirt signing resumed, everyone was chatting with one another, chasing me to tau pok me. The results were at the end handed out, 8th in Class, 68th in level, 3 A1s, missed out in Eng, Maths and science by 1, 1 and 2 marks respectively, ave %tage 71.4. but then again, I didnt care about the results, As the party drew to a close, we all left, It had been an absolute gem of a day. Then me, pinak, amrit and bhagi went to pizza hut for a treat frm me, then we continued to my home and played Fifa 09(I love it!!!!!!). Finally we went to watch Karzzz, which is an insult to the rishi kapoor version, We laughed our heads of throughout the movie from start to finish escpecially when Himesh came on. Come on everyone pinch your noses and sing ' Ek Haseena Thi'! Then braving through the rain rather frivoulously, we entered the MRT. The day was perfect. But really what an year it has been. So many good times and bad times, but 2008 is brilliant not only becos Barack Obama is now the president but of all those comedy moments, all those snipets of fun and laughter. My dad won Leading Indian Enterpruener of The Year award, Yay!, I got third in PESA, got into IP(For those who didnt know thanks for waitin, it is a programme which allows u to skip O levels(10th) and take A levels straight(12th). Even, diwali has passed, i have also used up about 1 and a half months of my 2 3/4 mth holiday, so as I leave for India on Monday(24th Nov) and return on 25th Dec, I will look back to 2008 as a great year, and then look ahead to VJC...

Ode To VS

How painful it can be when you are severed from your home, I will soon know. I am of course talkin about my alma mater. I still remember the first time I looked at the school, my eyes widened in awe. I still remember the first time I heard the buzz of VS students pouring out of the school at 1. 05 pm and I still remember the unforgettable experience of walking into the gates of Victoria School, the first time. A true home, for me at least VS has been and it how great the stay has really been. Victoria School is a wonderful place, full of all the things a heaven should have. The magnificent campus, the warm faculty, the seven heavens by Mr Fred, the library, the swings and if I keep going on the blog will overflow, these are just the very few things I will miss about VS. The teachers are fantastic, they go out of their way to make sure a student is coping well(although on very very few occasions slightly unfair but again on very very few occasions that is. The teachers are really the backbone of the school. I really will miss them:C. Then come the admin staff, who always are willing to help, they too are important to the schools functioning. As Mr. Maran then says, 'A School is only as good as it students are', so finally the students. The environment in VS is the best anyone can hope for from a school. The first example is that when we first came into VS in 2007, I remember the Sec 1 camp, we all were very edgy and conservative, not sure whether we ll fit in and there were the support leaders trying to make us gel together along with our form teachers(Mr Gabriel and Mr Tan, once again thanks for all u hav done). The atmosphere is brilliant at any tournament game as well everyone all 1500 of us try to make it to support VS, the immense amount of energy can really be felt pumping in the blood of Victorians at those times. So as I leave for IP, I have a lot to say but very little idea of how to express it in words(usually I am not speechless!). Just thank you to all the people in Victoria who have made my stay a memorable one and I just will remember the one line, 'NIL SINE LABORE'. I will always try wherever I may be in the future to keep the Victorian Flag flying, Once a Victorian, Always a Victorian...

School, Olympics, Speaking Brilliance and August

So Euro 08 was over, school had started. July, School started off as usual, monotonous days after monotonous days, we started biology and bid farewell to the teacher I hated most and still do. We got a very peculiar Geography teacher. The very first thing he did was distribute materials on the cross- sectional view of a brain, then he asked us to go around and ask our classmates random questions, that was the first lesson no teaching just i am not sure how to desribe what he was teaching. The lessons got worse as in the subsequent lessons, we were shown Pics of him before and after a slimming programme, still almost no teaching only distribution of notes and slacking. Videos of Mr. Bean and Miss Universe were up next, still no relevance to the subject! Then, the story of his life in a mind map and videos of him acting in crime watch(tv show). I still did not know what there was to do with geography and neither did the class. Furthermore, he rushed through everything as if he was going to miss a plane. Its a wonder that most of the class passed the CA2, of course with help from Ms. Raksha, who also gave us the good news today(21/8/08) that the very famous and definitely the most 'interesting' teacher i have met will be leaving us from next week. Moving on to the biggest sporting event of this year. With the Opening Ceremony of it already starting at such an exact time of 8pm 8min of 8/8/8, the glitzy ceremony really lit up the Beijing Olympic Games with a big bang. It must have been probably one of the best moments of the athletes lives, parading in their national colours in front of millions on tv and watching live. I was just sitting back and taking in all the excitement. It was really enthralling and gave me a lot to expect over the next few days. So August went on, phelps kept going on breakin records and the other swimmers hearts, while winning ours. He is truly the greatest olympian of all time and he deserves a standing ovation, so does Usain aka Lightning Bolt, smashing 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m records, is not easy and he does deserve a good pat on the back. We had a few speaking assignments, first up a communication skills workshop and its final product. My speech was the one on globalisation and even with the millions of minutes of practice with debate, i was a little, very little but still nervous. Guess what, once the first words came out, all the nervousness disappeared, i was enjoying the speech. That is what you have to do if you ever want to be a good public speaker, believe in what you say and really just let your heart speak. By the end of the speech there were smiles all around, including the few classmates i did not get along with that well it really lifted me. I was happy. At the end of the month came the end of the olympics(really sad:( day ) and teachers day. As some people know this is my last year in vs(literally cying now! lol) For those who don't wait for the next entry. So really functions like these do not come by so often. I came to school as usual at 7.24(school starts at 7. 25). We had assembly and then turned into crazy party animals. Together with three teachers including our fantastic geog teacher, form teacher and sub eng teacher, we went wild, chowing down on chips, cakes, brownies, pizzas, drinks. As we watched a movie our results were given out but no one really cared, we were in the party mood! So on carried our party, at 9 in the morning the teachers vs students sports began, i played a bit of floorball. I then went on a journey to find the teachers i had brought gifts for some were havin a chat, playing, in their classes, but they were happy! So then the soccer match started and i went to watch Mr. Maran show why he is a discipline master as well as a killer or defensive midfielder. The work at vs was done as school ended at 10 45 am. I just soaked in all the fun and jubilation of the moment, i will never forget the day. On to Pizza Hut to give Si Hui(Debate coach) and Mr Robin a treat, we ended at about 11 40 and then i ran relentlessly, 2 km to my old school, St. Stephen's. Truly it was worth it, I met Akhi and a few other level mates, who had also come back. We barged into the staffroom and had a little catch up session with the teachers. Eventually, the glorious day ended and so did August 2 days later(Today).

June holidays and Euro 08

Well five in the morning and i am at golden mile plaza. I was ready to enjoy the next four days I was going to spend in Malaysia. I was very excited. The previous two weeks of the holidays I had spent visiting friends, having fun, slacking, doing homework and watching Euro 08. Whichever team I support end up winning, its a coincidence or I am just pro. I supported Man u, they are champions of England and club champions of Europe. Now I supported Spain for this tournament. We drove up and on towards the Cameron Highlands, where we would be staying for two nights. At 9 am, still quite a long way away, we stopped for breakfast. I had waffles and a bit of cup corn, so far it was quite enjoyable, jamming up tunes on my ipod nano and just watching a movie. Stopping for lunch, we had all of the meals, of chinese cuisine except for the breakfast buffets। So unfair!!!!!!!! Anyways getting over my food issues as I do like chinese food sometimes, it was a very long trip and at about 5 pm we finally reached the Equatorial Hotel, after stopping at a tea farm, and viewing other stuff along the way. We also went shopping it was at a night market. The moment I saw the hotel, I was floored,it was amazing. It was as if the whole cameron highlands was a class apart from this. Private villas with balconies big enough to play 1 on 1 soccer, if anyones going to cameron highlands they should stay there. I enjoyed the second but was a bit tired as well, we went to the strawberry farm and we were allowed to pick strawberries for a price of course, but just by speaking a bit of bengali (not my native lang. my mum picked it up as she was always travelling as my grand dad was in the military) to the worker there, he took us to the back of the plantation where the real stuff was, huge strawberries compared to the puney ones the others were picking on the other side, we were actually forbidden there as the strawberries were for export but what the heck, language helps. I hate bees they are so freaky, no offence to any bees and that is why i dreaded the visit to the bee farm. I survived and we visited this rose valley next. It was awesome so many various plants, many cactuses as well as big as footballs(not too nice to take a free kick with) and some even two stories high. We then had lunch looking at our hotel(its a very small place). We reached back to the hotel eventually at 4 pm and i decided to go to the gym to do some running and work on my abs. Ya well, I was bored. So we went back to our villa and I was looking forward to the match between portugal and switzerland that night. We woke up next morning(I was late as usual but i watched portugal lose 2 - 0 last night so i celebrated too much) and we had to leave for genting. Again the long long ride in the bus again the blasting of tunes on my ipod. We reached genting at 4 pm and immediately decided to keep our luggage in the rooms and go to the outdoor theme park. It was so fun and I beat my mum in go karting so i was elated(hey at least i got to drive). After that we went to watch the live show Dreamz, yes i almost was in dreamland while watching, it was a bit boring but still bearable and to some extent enjoyable. After having dinner at 11pm at pizza hut it was lights off and preparation for leaving the next day. Long ride again in the bus but i wanted to be back. Finally the next day, at 11 night I was back. The hols were not over yet and I still had homework to do but i was waiting to get back to school(Love VS so much). The first week back in sch was nice but i hated the fact that we had 1 hour ten minutes extra to curriculum time. The weekend I had been waiting for then arrived and as I watched, Spain demolished Russia 3 - 0(Sorry Amrit but seriously Spain rock and netherlands dont). Onto the final and as i have always said the team i support ends up winning take Man u for example(Kings of england and Europe). This time it was more interesting as Amrit would give me 100 dollars if Spain won and I would give him 20 dollars if Germany won. Guess what Spain! Champions Of Europe! Viva la espana! Of course there was no exchange of hundred bucks(was a friendly bet). However, life goes on...

Competitions and results

I came in third in two tournaments. However, they are two very different tournaments, one is sport-based the other is academic-based, one is team-based the other is individual and one is at national level while the other is intra school But the feeling of acclompishment is the same. The feeling of contentment is the same. In the National School 11-a-side c division secondary school cricket tournament, we played Ping Yi in an enthralling 3rd and 4th placing match. Despite the dissapointment in not qualifying for first or second, VS beat Ping Yi by a comprehensive margin of 61 runs. It was quite exiciting even if we did not come in first. The second tournament, is the Victoria School PESA 08' competition. In this one participant from each class would have to give a speech on a prepared topic for at least four minutes. I was representing my class and single-handedly, got us into the finals for the competition. Giving two brilliant speeches on 'What happiness means to me' and 'How a Victorian is ultimately a gentlemen, professional and sportsman is not a piece of cake. However, I managed it with calmness and poise. In the final on the 28th of April, we had to speak on the topic 'What globalization means to me' and an impromptu speech in which we were given a topic and had five minutes to prepare and speak for a minimum of 2 minutes. It was tough and as almost the whole school was watching it, it was even more scary. After the two rounds of prepared and impromptu speeches, we waited eagerly for the result and I ended up third. I was contented with it as it was the first time I had done public speaking in front of such a large crowd. Now with the examinations starting on the second of May, I have to really study hard. It has been quite a month!

Tournaments and competitions

What to say, so many things have happened in this term, Our cricket tournament started, our debate tournament ended, I got my class single handedly into an intra school speech competition by delivering 2 brilliant speeches and a lot more. Debate, first of all we were at the 3rd and final preliminary round with a slight chance to go through, having won the previous debate when Pinak had not come. However, ironically, it was Pinak's birthday on the debate day. We all were nervous. It was nail biting as we lost by a mere 0.5 points which is the slimmest of margins in a debate to St. Joseph's Instutition. A dream had ended but a story had begun. Our cricket tournament started and every year, there are 3 big teams in the tournament, us, ACS(i) and RI. We are always in the top 3 positions. So our first group match in the national tournament, was against ACS(i) but we lost by about 30 runs. However, in our next few games, we beat St. Patricks and Telok Kurau to progress to the semis. Now moving on to the speaking competition, PESA 08' is a tournament in which each class would have a competitor and there would be one preliminary round, a semi final and final. I eased past the preliminary round with a score of 215 upon 300 from 3 different judges as the topmost of the Sec 2 cohort. There were the last 15 competitors left for the semi final and this time, all the levels were competing against one another. We were supposed to come up with a speech between 4 mins and 6 and a half mins in every round of the tournament and this round's topic was about ' How a victorian is a gentleman, professional and sportsman' for this round' I spoke well and brilliantly, finishing in the second position to qualify for the seven member final. The topic for the final is 'What globalization means to me'

Cambodia 08' (Day 5) 14/3/08

The final day had arrived! We all thought that how time had flown past. We did not know how 5 days could have passed like that. We all wished that the trip had lasted longer, but good things always come to an end. We all packed all our luggages and gave our rooms a last sweeping look to check for anything we had left behind. Walking down for breakfast, we got our moneybags ready for the hour of hardcore shopping coming up. We arrived at the old market, the place where we had ate our dinner the night before. Armed with strong voices to bargain and will power to drive the best price, we entered the market. I went 5 minutes without buying anything at first but then I started the spending spree. As I was help Darren Zhen buy a hammock, I bought scarf for my mum. Then, I bought a painting of Angkor Wat for $11 US. After that me and Darren started roaming around looking for items to buy and we ended up getting lost. We ran into another bunch of Victorians somewhere in the market and together, we tried to get to the main road. We went past the same wet market twice and passed by a jewellery shop where I bought my sister a pair of earings. Still unable to find our way, we decided to keep going north and we ran into Mr. Thiru. He too was very confused about the direction in the market. He was arguing fiercly on the price of two wood crafts with the shopkeeper. We decided to help him and we all succeeded in getting him the object for the price he wanted. Seeing my painting, he wanted to get one and he asked me to lead us to the painting shop. We took another 5 minutes getting to the painting shop. However, over there we met Amrit and Bhagirath. Bhagi had bought 2 paintings for $25 about the Bayon and Angkor Wat. After Mr. Thiru settled the amount for the painting he wanted. He told us that time was running out so we all rushed to the main road. Over there, Mrs. Bala and the rest were buying rattan slippers. Mr. Thiru bought them too and a few others of us. After 2 minutes of final wheeling and dealing, we went up the bus to go to the airport. It was time to leave. We reached the airport at 9.55 am and packed the stuff we had bought and then we checked in. It took a while to do so and then it was time to get past the immigration. After getting into the immigration, we sat in the lounge and talked, ate and talked after about 30 minutes, it was time for us to board the flight. We were going to miss the 5 fun filled and spectacular days there. However, life must go on.

Cambodia 08' (Day 4) 13/3/08

The so called highlight of our trip was still unvisited, so on the fourth day, Angkor Wat awaited us. The magnificent, extraordinary and mind blowing structure awaited us. The Angkor's empire's main city, where the Bayon temple and Angkor Wat are, the size of it is 7 times of Singapore. The whole place is dam huge and I mean it. First, we left the hotel early at 7.30pm to go to the entrance of the main city of the Angkor empire. As we drove in, we caught sight of many temples including the Angkor Wat. However, we were just passing by. First stop for the day was the Bayon temple. Its speciality is the many statues of four headed Lord Brahma(Bayon). When we entered the temple's first stage, there were many statues on both the sides of us as we walked. The statues on one side represented the demons and the other side's statues, were the gods. They were depicting the scene of the tug of war in the sea to get the nectar(विष्णु) in which the lord Shiva, drinks the poison to be known as नीलकंठ (blue neck) and in which Lord Vishnu turns into a tortoise. As we moved to the main building of the temple, we realised how big the place really was. From the first entrance to the main building, the distance was about 1 km and this was only one of the 276 temples in the main city of the Angkor Civilisation. The Bayon temple was like a maze. It was hard to get out of it individually without any guidance. There were 3 stories in the temple and the steps to climb up were very steep and high. There was no place to keep our feet as we ascended the stairs. When we reached the highest we were amazed by the sight we saw. There were bayon heads surrounding us all over the place. They were all so huge and well crafted, that we forgot almost everything else in that moment. Each of them was about 3 metres high and 1.6 metres wide. In the middle of the topmost floor, there was a pure gold statue of Buddha. It was the only thing shining in the dark chamber. After we finished looking around, we all gathered at the bottom of the temple to take a group photo. It was only 11am we had more than half the day ahead of us. We walked 50 metres to the elephant terrace. It was where the king of the Angkor Civilisation would stand and address his people from on top of the terrace. There were sculptures of the Garuda(Vishnu भगवन का vahan ) and the Nagas(snake) to symbolise that the king believed in the equality of Buddhism and Hinduism. As we boarded the bus to leave the Angkor City for lunch, we thought that the main highlight was still to come. We ate a hasty lunch as we wanted to witness the 7th wonder of the world fast. We came back to the Angkor City, but first, we were to visit a huge temple with the area of 1.5 km by 830 metres. It was very difficult to get out of the temple once we were in. We were there to see the effects of nature on the buildings. We realised how powerful trees are after seeing their disastrous effects on the temple. Roots had built cracks in the walls branches had wrapped themselves around the statues heads. I swear I would have been lost without our guide. All of us would take days to find a way out of that temple without our guide. There was a brilliant sight at the exit of the temple. A whole tree had grown on top of the roof of the temple. It showed how nature overpowered mankind. Angkor Wat awaited us. As we arrived at the first stage of entrance to the temple, we had to cross a bridge about 100 metres long as there was a huge moat underneath. We walked past the bridge to the second stage of entrance to the temple, a 20 feet statue of Lord Vishnu welcomed us. This temple was a master craft of architecture. We walked past the second stage of entrance to the temple and another path awaited us. We were nearing the main building of the temple. As we approached the fourth stage of entrance to the temple, we sidetracked a bit to take a group photo with the reflection of Angkor Wat in the water and Angkor Wat itself. We finally walked towards the main building. As we walked up the stairs, we thought that we had finally arrived at the center of the Angkor Civilisation. However, we were far from there. We walked on to the center of the temple. Our footsteps getting faster and faster. We walked another flight of steps panting. They were so steep and high!!! It was like scaling a hill. Finally we had arrived at the last floor of Angkor Wat's main building. We had reached the place where the Angkor Civilisation had its middle. The place where it had all began. The biggest temple in the world. One of the seven wonders of the world. It was a great feeling. We sat down to look at a monkey eating a nut for a while. Then, we walked around the place. Magnificent sculptures were all over the place. Huge identical towers stood up tall around us. It was brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We left after a while. However, we had been separated with half of the group. Mr. Thiru, Mrs. Bala and 5 others of us, were left to find our own way out of the biggest temple in the world. We managed to find our way out of the main building and catch up with the rest of our group before they left. We sat around for a while regaining our energy outside Angkor Wat. It was 4.40 pm. We were supposed to go next for viewing the sunset from the top of hill. As we sat in the bus to go there, we reflected on the day. We arrived at the foot of the hill and it was time to test our fitness as we had to climb up 850 metres to get to the top of the hill after the tiring day. However, I still had energy left and we started our climb. We reached the top of the hill at 5.15 pm only to groan really loudly. There were 5 flights of stairs, extremely steep stairs, it was crazy. However, we ascended them even though we reached the top panting!!! The time to reap the fruits of our labor had arrived. We sat down shoulder to shoulder, Me, Amrit, Bhagirath, Adam, Mani, Darren Zhen and a few others to witness a brilliant sunset. The view was fabulous. On the east of the hill fell a huge forest. On the North, was another huge forest. On the South, we saw The Tonle Sap lake spanning out in the horizon. Finally on the West, we saw farming fields and villages. We stayed up there until 6.20 pm. However, we then descended the hill. Mr Leo, was waiting at the bottom with a few other guys who had opted to miss the wonderful sight ready for us to go for dinner. We were leaving the Angkor Civilisation's capital city having covered only 12% of it. However, the most important 12%. We went for dinner in the city near to our hotel. Dreading the meal as it was a set meal and the set meals during the trip had disappointed us. We got a pleasant surprise. The meal was quite good. It was almost the best meal we had in Cambodia if not for the lunch on the 3rd day. We celebrated the good news that lights out that night was 11.30 pm. We invited Mr. Thiru to join us in playing cards and teach us a new Indian card game. However, he could not make it but we still made the most of that last night. Cards and UNO flourished. We had somewhat of a party but as I slept that night, I thought that the trip only had 1 day left.

Cambodia 08' (Day 3) 12/3/08

After the previous day's long travel and then, the visit to the lake, came the 3rd day of our 5 day trip. I could not believe how quickly, the past 2 days had passed by. In no time at all, we were at the middle of our visit to Cambodia. Today, we had a full day CIP project in store for us. The loads of stuff we had brought back from Singapore, were to be unloaded today. We woke up had breakfast and left for our 1st stop for the day. The orphanage we were visiting, was a self run orphanage by a fine man in his 30's. How the man had managed to run the orphanage was a different story all together. When we arrived at the orphanage, a line of children were waiting to welcome us. All of the children seemed to be between 8-10 years of age, due to their stature. However, some of them were as old as us or even older! As we distributed the items we had brought for the children to them, the owner of the orphanage, looked on beaming. It was a touching sight, to see the children's faces light up as we gave them the stuff. One half of us were going to the market to buy vegetables that we were going to use to cook for them while the other half would stay back at the orphanage. I and Amrit stayed back along with a few others. At the orphanage, they too had something for us the art of making skin carvings which they used to make for a living, they would teach it to us!!!! So we sat down for a 1 on 1 session as they taught us how to make their beautiful pieces of art. My instructors name was Raja, he was our age but he looked as small as an 8 year old. He and me together started making those carvings for me to take back as souvenirs. I made a carving bearing, VS, another bearing, Gaurav and another bearing 2H. At the end to thank Raja, I made him a carving bearing his name. He was delighted and he graciously accepted it. While we waited for the guys coming back from the market, we roamed around the orphanage me and Amrit wanted to play soccer with the orphanage kids, so we just had a kick about. We started the cooking once the guys arrived with the stuff. We made for the orphanage kids, clear water soup with a lot of vegetables and chicken and also fried scrambled eggs with tofu. However nice our cooking was, we did not eat our own cooked food, instead we bade farewell to the orphanage kids and left for lunch. An international buffet a hotel was the perfect thing to replenish our energy. Not as bad as the previous day's lunch, we dug into the food. I ate tomato rice with a tofu veggie, with tom yam soup, with an omelet, with coconut ice cream, with a green veg and a whole lot more. I was full to the bursting when it was time to leave. We went to the hotel to rest for about an hour and fifteen minutes before setting off at 3.30 pm to go to the secondary school to teach english as the second part of the CIP segment. We arrived at the school all geared up. We were going to teach english to the secondary school students. We were as nervous as the students we were about to teach. As we entered the class, we were greeted by a loud cheer and we replied with 'sustay' which means hello. The number of kids in the class were easily more than 35. We tried to ask them to introduce themselves first but when they could not even do that, it was no point moving on to bigger and more challenging things. We started playing a questionarre with them, we drew a face and then, we pointed out to different parts on the face. They were not answering, so we decided to give them an incentive to answer for. We started by giving a key chain, a pen or a pencil to the students who answered. It worked, even though the students did not answer all the questions correctly, they were at least reponsive. After an hour of sweat, toil and teaching, we left the class room, feeling we had done some good in the world. As we walked around the school compound, we came across a wierd game. There were about 10 students on each side and one of the students from one side would pick another student from the other side. Then, using an old scarf, the student would whip the other student and thats how the game would be played it was a scary game yet amusing. Amrit and Brennan got whacked once each. Apparently, now we know how pol pot came about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We left the school feeling desperately in need for rest. We were hoping that a good meal was awaiting us, but alas. The chinese non veg prevailed again. This time it was worse!!! We ended the dinner with a prawn being flung inside the seaweed soup by me and Amrit. Not an appetising dinner but definately entertaining, amusing and fun. Back at the hotel, bluff was played, UNO cards were dealt and reflections were written. Our day had brightened up at least one life in the world. Yet half our trip was over.

Cambodia 08' (Day 2) 11/3/08

Waking up at around 6.30 am is a regular thing for me. So after getting ready, at 7.30 am, me and Bhagirath left our bags in the room and went down for breakfast. We had a hasty breakfast with Amrit, Surya, Adam and left to take all our luggage down from the room. We were charged up for the 5 hour drive to Siem Reap from Phnom Pehn. Armed with ipods, creative zens and Psps, we sat down in the bus. During the drive, we saw a lot of beautiful scenes of the country side it was a pleasant drive. At 9 am, we stopped halfway at spider village. It was a pretty small village but their speciality was that they ate spiders. Mr Leo in the full midst of moment actually tried eating one of those spiders!!!!! It was very crispy according to him. At 1 pm we arrived at a restaurant in Siem Reap. We all were expecting something nice and filling for lunch after those 5 hours of travelling. However, what we got was completely opposite. If I have learnt anything during this trip, it is that the Chinese non veg food we was really bad. No offence to all Chinese reading this, but really the Chinese non veg food we ate s###ed to the core! After that lunch, we had time to go to the new hotel for settling down and checking in. The hotel in Phnom Pehn was better!!! However after unpacking and the rest, we were called down at 3.30 pm to board the bus to go to the Tonle Sap in English it means Great Lake. I was actually so tired that I fell asleep for 15 mins in the bus on the way to the lake. We had a boat waiting for us at the river bank to take us into the lake. As we boarded the boat we looked at the state of the water it was the colour of tea. The water was actually khaki colour due to the mud!!!! As the boat began to move, we saw people in boats moving around our boat heading in the same direction as us. Something was up I thought. As we entered the lake, my jaw dropped. There in front of my eyes was a floating village. No stilts or pillar connected the houses to the floor of the lake. The houses were actually floating by themselves!!!! People here had a unique way of buying and selling their goods. There would be 2 people on a motor boat. They would speed towards us and when their boat was close enough to ours, one guy carrying a drink box would cross over to our boat and start selling his drinks to us. When he was done, another boat would come by and pick him up, it was like playing boat catching! We looked around once we were completely into the lake, we all realised how big the lake really was, it was so huge that we could not see the land on the other side, the water stretched out as far as the eye can see. The lake certainly did not disappoint as the largest lake in Asia. This miraculous floating village, was fantastic, it had a basketball court, a soccer court, a market, an entertainment centre and a main head office. When we got off the boat at the central market inside the floating village, I bought my mum a lovely purse. I had started the spending spree in Cambodia. As we were going back to the bank of the river, I watched the sun setting over the mountain. I had had a wonderful time in Cambodia so far. We still had about an hour till dinner. So we did some shopping at the central market of Siem Reap. We had a lot of fun bargaining the prices. I bought 2 wooden bayon heads for $6 US bringing it down from $10 US. I bought a nike and an adidas t- shirt for $12 US. After all that hefty bargaining, we were starving and we went for the dinner with the Apsara dance. Mani was almost leaping out of his seat when he saw the dancers. After a while, the dance got boring and we all decided to go to the hotel. Once again the UNO cards were dealt and we played till lights out at 10.30 pm. The second day of the trip was over.

Cambodia 08'( Day 1) 10/3/08

Brilliant, Fantastic and definitely a superb experience would be the words to describe the Cambodia trip from 10/3/08 to 14/3/08. At 6.55am on Monday, 10/3/08, I reached Changi Airport, to fly to Cambodia. I was very excited as this was my first overseas camp trip. The group had already started checking in, when I had arrived so I joined them. 34 students including myself followed with, Mr Thiru, Mr Leo, Mrs Leo and Mrs Bala were going to Cambodia for the trip finally!!!!! After saying our final goodbyes, we boarded the plane looking forward to the 5 days ahead. We arrived at Cambodia at 9.40 am( Cambodian time)(10.40am Singapore time) and got out of the airport by 10 am. Expecting to go for checking in at the hotel first, we were shocked when a bus loaded with all our luggage left for the hotel while we boarded the tour bus. With our tour guide explaining us the facts about Cambodia, we reached the first place of the day and visit, the high school turned security prison turned museum, S21. This was the place were prisoners during the pol pot regime were tortured and interrogated the scenes were horrific. Every high level prisoner had a room for themselves and almost every night they were chained to their bed and tortured. The prisoners often under went their body parts being chopped off and then had petrol poured all over that area. There were gruesome pictures and evidence all over the walls. There was also a map of skulls. 17000 people went through that kind of torture. We then went for lunch. After eating our fill at the buffet, we left to see the killing fields. It was the place were the people from S21, were brought and killed. They had a 17 storey high tower filled with the bones of the dead. Surrounding that tower, were 86 mass graves were the victims were buried. Palm trees were used to chop off the head of the person. It was an eiree place to be in. After paying our respects to the dead, we left to see the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. It is the place where the King of Cambodia resides. The Royal palace is decked with gold. Its main hall is very grand. Even though we were not allowed to take pics, our eyes feasted on the sight. Moving on to the Silver Pagoda, its floor is approximately made of 120 silver tiles. All tired now, we went back to the hotel for a much needed 2 hours rest until 6.30pm. In those 2 hours, after we had unpacked, we played UNO and cards it was super fun. At 7.00 pm, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were all starving and the smell of the meal really whet our appetites. The food was quite nice. Stuffed to the brim, we went back to the hotel to have fun. Lights out was at 10.30 pm, so we completed our reflections, changed into our night clothes and went to Amrit's room to play cards and UNO with the other guys. Adam, Bhagirath, Amrit, Surya and me had a lot of fun. As I went back to the room I was sharing with Bhagi, I thought that this trip was really going to be fun.

Cambodia Trip

I will be leaving for Cambodia during the March holidays as part of a school learning trip. First, we assembled at the safra bowling alley at Pasir ris. During, the two hours of bowling there, many of Amrit's cousins joined in and we had a ball of a time. I even got my highest score; 92. However, my arm had an ache after those 2 hours! Next, it was on to Amrit's house and over there, we went and played soccer in the park for a while. Since I am quite good, Amrit, Sheik and Pinak faced me alone. Even then, I was able to run them ragged. All sweaty and tired, we trooped back to Amrit's house to play some video games and have dinner. We were first playing Fifa 08 and in that, I beat Sheik 3-0 in the first game but lost to Amrit 2-0. Next, we had a lavish dinner while talking to some of Amrit's cousins. It was a very fun event and smudging some cake on Amrit's face made it even more memorable.

JG tournament

We lost our debate against Unity sec last night on the 15th of feb. All the 11 people I had invited were supposed to arrive by 4.30pm in the afternoon, but it is common knowledge that no one is ever punctual. Thus, we went for the first activity on the agenda at 4. 50pm. Expecting lateness from the guests, I had thoughtfully booked the area for 5 pm. First, we were playing soccer on this nice, big artificial turf field I had booked. We played 3 matches in total and my team won 2 matches and lost 1. I emerged top scorer netting in a total of 16 astounding goals. We all had a lot of fun.

From left to right: Manick, Amrat, Pinak, Me, Avinash(behind), Deeren, Amrit, Prasith, Freddy, Akhilesh

All us tired, sweaty yet overjoyed, plundered to the bowling alley nearby. We played in a tournament format and we split up our groups into 5 people and 6 people. The top two from each group would progress to the final. I was in group with 6 people but still I managed to reach the final unscathed with 72 points on top of my group. Due controversy, 3 people qualified from our group and it was a 5 man final between me, Parag, Manick, Amrit and Deeren. We decided on playing the finals after the cake cutting and dinner as some guests needed to go early. Thus, we went to McCafe for the cake cutting and the dinner ceremony. It was fun except for the part when I had to get cake smudged all over my face by Manick and Akhilesh. Well energised, we finally walked back to the bowling alley to round off what had been an extraordinary evening. As I took the first shot in the final, sudden concentration fell all over. After about 4 shots each it looked to be a two horse race between Parag and Deeren. But in the 7 round of shots Manick made a comeback, but it was too little too late. Parag won the final to end the brilliant party at about 11 pm. It was a wonderful end to a party of the best caliber.

Cca Trainings in school(Pls mark)

It is amazing how much you can enjoy a thing and yet despise it at times. I just came back from cricket & debate training today at around 6.30pm and I was so exhausted that I almost hated going for it. Today, surprisingly our coach did not arrive for cricket, but responsibly we did our gym exercise. After gym, we went to play cricket league tournament among ourselves. We immediately split up into 4 teams, I was in a five member team and I was one of the better players in that team. First, we played our hardest match, even though the opposing team had 4 members, they had a national player amongst them. We attacked them from the start, putting them under intense pressure and taking all the chances we had to put the game away and we were rewarded by winning the match by a close but clear margin. Our second match, was against a fairly easy team since we were facing the losers of the other match but we decided that we could not be complacent as complacency could cost us dear. The opposing team had 6 players but a comparatively weaker side and by pressurising them immensely, we trashed their team; our hard work had payed off. But our last match was scrapped as we decided that we would rather watch the soccer match between VS and TPJC. Vs were playing superbly well and within ten minutes we were ahead. A delicate chip over the onrushing goalkeeper of TPJC, was enough to give Vs the lead. By 15 minutes it was clear that it was Vs's day. Another long ball was slotted coolly past the keeper into the goal! Two- nil to Vs. Deciding that the match was out of reach of TPJC, I left for debate training. We had a new coach assigned to us for debate and I really wanted to impress the coach and secure my already assigned place in the debating team but unfortunately, I arrived too late. I did not have a chance to showcase my debating skills to the new coach. Well there is always a next time but I got a pleasent surprise while returning home. The score was 5-0 to VS! But I learnt today that no matter how packed the day was and how tired I was, I had enjoyed myself.

Debate Competition( Pls Mark)

Yesterday was a very hectic day. I had a debate competition to attend to thus I woke up at 5. 30am. Half sleepily, I got ready and left for Meridien JC in Pasir Ris, the venue for the competition. We had Victorian blazers specially brought for us from school for wearing. We were the only boys school there and we were also the underdogs as the rest of the teams were mostly JC or Secondary 3 teams. We were up against three good teams in the preliminary rounds. In the first 2 rounds, we debated the motion of whether countries should be paid or not to save their forests. We faced Paya Lebar Medhodist Girls in the first round but lost by a narrow margin of 4 points. It means that the loss was a very light one. But in the second round, when we faced Coral Secondary School, we had the judge telling us that it was her worst debate as a judge in her life. I do not think that it was that bad. It was a heavy loss for us this time by 12 points. In the third round however, Cedar Girls school were our opponents they were the only Sec 2 team but they were brilliant. It was probably the most enjoyable debate of my life. Pinak(2F) made it even more amusing by saying world war 3 would occur if the commercialization of soccer was stopped. But we lost by only one point. We were dejected and heart broken and we really felt let down by ourselves, but that's how it is sometimes we win sometimes we lose.

Debate tournament

I skipped cricket today to go to debate meeting.
